Fran Evans

Fran has worked in the legal industry for over 20 years.  Initially, she worked at a systems house based in London, managing a team providing technical support and tailored training solutions to a legal client base.  Fran then moved on to work for several major law firms in various roles and was Head of IT at Berrymans Lace Mawer for over 12 years, leading a department of 45 staff.  Fran had management responsibility for the Technical and Infrastructure team, Development team, Project Office, Service Desk, and Training team.  She proposed and subsequently implemented several business critical systems with extensive stakeholder involvement and delivered a portfolio of IT projects with a 95% on time and in budget success rate.

During her time at BLM, she was responsible for the introduction of a new wide area network, new case management software and a new practice management system.  Additionally, Fran worked closely with key business and legal personnel to develop new approaches to risk management that led to her setting up a project to obtain ISO 27001 certification.  Fran draws on her experience of working within the legal environment to help legal professionals gain the most effective results from their IT teams and applications.

Additionally, Fran is IPD qualified, giving her a further insight into operational management.

Fran has recently begun working with NCCG.  Particular areas of expertise are:-

  • selection and procurement of systems
  • change management issues arising from the introduction of new applications and systems
  • recruitment and selection of IT staff, team re-shaping and performance management
  • interim IT management and services development
  • project management
